Brigitte offers a polished, yet relaxed atmosphere that works in tandem with warm hospitality. Our Michelin-awarded Chef, Kamran Naseem, hosts mix of French classics alongside of more modern bites throughout our menu.
From the bar, diners may enjoy signature cocktails and well-selected spirits under the direction of Nola Ortiz. Both our bar and service teams are comprised of many talented individuals that come from notable establishments throughout the city. Curated by Chris Lauber, our wine program is focused on French selections, yet maintains a world view. The list takes special note of female winemakers.

Kamran Naseem, Executive Chef
Kamran Naseem is Executive Chef of Brigitte Bistro Moderne. A 17-year veteran of some of New York’s top kitchens, Chef Kamran’s cooking is firmly rooted in French gastronomy with eclectic nods to modern touches.
Previously, Chef Kamran was Executive Chef at Junoon, the pioneer of progressive Indian cuisine in New York City. The first time Chef Kamran helmed a kitchen, the restaurant earned Michelin stars two years in a row. At the same time, under his leadership, the restaurant improved operations and grew its business.
This followed Chef Kamran’s tenure at the world renowned Four Seasons Restaurant, which he joined as a Sous Chef and was later promoted to Executive Sous Chef. It was in this revered New York City institution that Chef Kamran mastered high-volume, fine-dining cuisine that was both exceptional and consistent.
Nathan Meyer, General Manager
After graduating from NYU and a stint in investment banking, Nathan realized his love of hospitality and enrolled in ICC’s culinary arts program. After graduation, he worked in the kitchens at ABC Kitchen and Dovetail.
After a year-long stagier at the Michelin starred Restaurante Righi in San Marino Citta, IT, he returned and made his transition to the front of the house. After managing for Hillstone and Momofuku, he joins Brigitte as the General Manager and leads the FOH team at Brigitte in all aspects of daily operations.
Nola Ortiz, Bar Director
Nola is a career bartender with over fourteen years of experience in the hospitality industry. She has committed the last five years developing her skills and furthering her education in as many related fields as possible. She is currently freelancing for a number of different spirit brands and has recently launched her own craft cocktail delivery service for private parties and office happy hours.
Nola is certified in levels I and II through the American Sommelier Association. In addition, she successfully completed a 16-week blind taste testing course through the same program in order to have a better understanding of varietals and the impacts of terroir. Her credentials in cocktail and spirit training come from the 5-day Beverage Alcohol Resource program (BAR 5-day) taught by the industry’s most qualified and respected educators.
Chris Lauber, Managing Director & Partner
Chris Lauber is the Managing Director and Partner at Convivium Restaurant Group, which owns and operates Brigitte; Manina, an intimate Brazilian-inspired cocktail lounge under Brigitte Bistro Moderne; as well as Convivium Experiential Catering, an experiential catering firm that he is currently expanding after a decade of proven success.
Chris is a seasoned food and beverage professional with over 15 years of experience. He has managed ventures ranging from upper-casual, to three Michelin stars. Chris is numbers-driven, focused on driving efficiencies, and known for profitability—all with the ultimate goal of scalability.
At Brigitte Bistro Moderne, Chris is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant is meeting its operational and financial goals and suggesting ways it can improve its gastronomic and hospitality experience. During his time at Jean-Georges, he grew very fond of the service style and more casual atmosphere of Nougatine, which inspired many of the design and style choices at Brigitte.
He curated Brigitte’s wine list that focuses on France, but with a world view, with a goal that all bottles “ideally drink far above their listed price.” The wine list includes several offerings currently not distributed on the East Coast, several from friend Jesse Katz, whose wine, “The Setting,” recently outperformed Château Margaux at auction. The list also features many bottles from up-and-coming winemakers that offer great wine at a fraction of the cost of others.
